If there are changes in a red mole, the first thing to look for is the problem that caused it. In the case of enlarged or increased spider moles, increased levels of oestrogen should be considered, as in adolescent girls, pregnant women, etc.; or liver damage from various causes; and infantile haemangiomas in newborns, where the effect of oestrogen from the mother stimulates the tumour to increase in size more quickly.
