It is usually a fibrotic scar formed in the liver parenchyma as a result of cellular inflammation, tuberculosis, trauma, abscess, haemorrhage, parasitic infection or granuloma, which causes limited necrosis of the liver tissue and does not normally cause significant adverse effects or harm to the body.
