Hepatic calcification is a strong echogenic or dense image that appears like a stone in the liver on ultrasound imaging. Liver calculi, or intrahepatic bile duct stones, are stones in the small bile ducts of the liver and are usually associated with bacterial infection of the biliary tract, parasitic infection or bile retention.
