Is redness on the face an allergy?

Redness on the face can be a result of allergies. Allergies can occur when the facial skin is exposed to pollen, as well as certain cosmetics, foods and medications, and often manifest as redness, itching, dry flaking, blisters, small red rashes and, in some cases, a burning and tightening sensation on the face.
In addition, changes in temperature, mood changes, diabetes and Cushing’s syndrome can also cause facial redness and the cause should be promptly identified by a doctor.
