Special drugs for breast cancer

The treatment of breast cancer patients usually requires the selection of drugs based on the disease as well as the type of pathology. Drugs are usually divided into three categories, namely chemotherapeutic agents, endocrine therapeutic agents and targeted therapeutic agents. After breast cancer is identified, preoperative or postoperative chemotherapy drugs include cyclophosphamide, epi-amycin, docetaxel, paclitaxel, etc. They are usually used as single drugs or in combination of two or even three drugs. Endocrine therapeutic agents are chosen to be administered after the end of chemotherapy, depending on the patient’s different pathological types. For estrogen receptor-dependent types, endocrine therapy drugs are chosen. For pre-menopausal patients, tamoxifen citrate and toremifene citrate can be used now. For post-menopausal patients, letrozole, anastrozole, and exemestane are usually chosen. For targeted therapeutics, the most common are trastuzumab for injection (Herceptin), patuximab for injection, and pyrrolizidine. For patients with metastatic recurrence, other drugs need to be chosen depending on the disease and previous medication.
