Is it serious to have a tumor in your throat for two or three years?

The severity of a long tumor in the throat for two or three years is determined by the nature of the tumor, with benign tumors in better condition and malignant tumors in more serious condition.
Tumors are new organisms that abnormally proliferate in the body, destroying normal tissues and organs. Tumor development is a complex multi-step process that can be caused by a combination of chemical, physical, biological, genetic and other factors.
Tumors are divided into benign and malignant tumors. Benign tumors include polyps, papillomas, and keratoses in the throat area. If the tumor is benign, then it is in better condition and generally has less impact on the body. Through surgical treatment most people can have more ideal treatment results.
Malignant tumors may include squamous cell carcinoma of the throat area, malignant lymphoma, and so on. If the tumor is malignant, then the situation is more serious, may block the esophagus or the tumor may spread and cause tissue necrosis. Malignant tumors first need to undergo routine systemic examinations, such as ultrasound of the neck and CT of the chest, to determine whether the tumor has metastasized or spread.
If the tumor has not spread, it can be directly treated by surgery. If the tumor has spread, the treatment will be more complicated, and it needs to be treated by surgery with radiation therapy and chemotherapy at the same time.
Patients should quit smoking and drinking, and eat a light, highly nutritious, easy-to-digest diet rich in vitamins. Food should be diversified, well-combined and in small portions. Eat more fresh fruits and vegetables, and try to avoid deep-fried, smoked and barbecued, spicy and stimulating, greasy and hard food.
Patients should follow the doctor’s instructions for treatment, do not blindly treat yourself, so as not to delay the condition.
