What is the difference between benign and malignant bladder tumors?

The differences between benign and malignant bladder tumors are symptoms, pathologic features, tumor biologic features, and recurrence.
1. Symptoms of benign tumors are usually not obvious, and local compression is dominant in larger benign tumors. Malignant tumors of the bladder may present with symptoms such as hematuria and the occurrence of metastatic sites.
2. Benign bladder tumors have better tissue differentiation, no pathological nuclear schizophrenia, and less heterogeneity. On the contrary, malignant bladder tumors are characterized by pathological features.
3. Benign bladder tumors have biological features such as smooth mass, non-invasiveness, generally no lymph node and distant metastasis, and slow growth rate, while malignant bladder tumors, the mass can be adhered to the surrounding tissues, not easy to be pushed, invasive, and prone to lymph node and distant metastasis.
4. Benign bladder tumors rarely recur after surgery, while malignant bladder tumors have a high probability of recurrence after surgery.
