What are the types of pulmonary dyspnea?

Pulmonary-derived dyspnoea includes inspiratory dyspnoea, expiratory dyspnoea, and mixed dyspnoea.
Inspiratory dyspnoea: manifests as wheezing, sternal, supraclavicular fossa and intercostal space depression during inspiration, and triple concave sign. It is mostly seen in laryngeal and tracheal stenosis such as inflammation, oedema, foreign bodies and tumours.
Mixed dyspnoea: Commonly seen in massive pleural effusion, pneumonia, pneumothorax and pulmonary fibrosis.
Expiratory dyspnoea: prolonged expiratory phase with croup, seen in bronchial asthma and obstructive lung disease, etc.
