How to treat low-grade malignant tumors of salivary gland origin

The usual treatment of choice for low-grade malignant tumors of salivary gland origin is surgery, and some of them can be treated with additional radiotherapy to reduce the local recurrence rate, as follows. It is usually resected 1~1.5 cm outside the tumor, if the adjacent periosteum or bone is involved, the bone tissue should be amputated, and if the local lymph nodes are enlarged or there may be lymph node metastasis, corresponding cervical lymph node dissection should be done. For low-grade malignant tumors, if the nerve has not penetrated into the tumor, the nerve should be preserved as much as possible, and the separated nerve can be frozen with liquid nitrogen intraoperatively plus postoperative radiotherapy in order to kill the residual tumor cells and prevent recurrence. It is recommended to go to the hospital in time, with the help of doctors to clarify the diagnosis and early targeted treatment.
