The patellar fracture should be fixed in a plaster cast for about 4-6 weeks in an extension position, and the fracture should be reviewed by radiographs after 4-6 weeks. The strength, range of motion, and duration of exercise should be increased gradually to avoid the reoccurrence of bone fractures, fractures, and bone dislocations due to excessive flexion and extension. During the period of cast fixation, the quadriceps muscle on the front side of the thigh should be appropriately contracted to prevent muscle atrophy and the formation of deep vein thrombosis in the lower limbs. During the treatment period, oral anti-inflammatory and pain-relieving drugs as well as blood-stasis activating drugs can effectively reduce the local pain and promote the recovery of the injured position.
