How Breast Cancer is Staged

There are many ways to staging breast cancer, currently the following pathological staging methods are used in China. The first one, is including non-invasive breast cancer. It includes intracholangiocarcinoma. It includes lobular protostomach cancer and papillary eczema-like breast cancer. This type generally belongs to early stage and has a better prognosis. The second type is early invasive breast cancer, including early invasive ductal carcinoma and early invasive lobular carcinoma, which also belongs to early stage and generally has a better prognosis. The third type is invasive special carcinoma, including papillary carcinoma, medullary carcinoma, but this kind of medullary carcinoma is the medullary carcinoma with a large number of lymphocytic infiltration, as well as tubular carcinoma, adenoid cystic carcinoma, mucinous carcinoma, sweat carcinoma, squamous cell carcinoma, etc. This type of change is also generally higher and has a better prognosis. The fourth type, which is also a more common type, is invasive non-specific carcinoma, including invasive lobular carcinoma, invasive ductal carcinoma, sclerosing carcinoma, and medullary carcinoma. Medullary carcinoma generally does not have a large number of lymphocytic infiltration, and also includes simple carcinoma and adenocarcinoma. This type is generally less differentiated and has a slightly worse prognosis than the above, three above, it is also the most common type of breast cancer. The fifth type is other rare cancers, that is, less common cancers, but this type is still the most common type that suggests infiltrative non-specific cancer. The staging of breast cancer is widely used in clinical practice.
