What is isotope therapy?

After total thyroidectomy, many patients with thyroid cancer will be recommended by their surgeons to undergo “isotope” treatment, which is briefly described as follows In Beijing, we recommend the following hospitals: Naval General Hospital (Fucheng Road, Haidian District), Union Hospital (Dongdan North Street, Dongcheng District), 307 Hospital (Fengtai East Street, Fengtai District), 401 Hospital (Liangxiang, Fangshan District). Please visit the Department of Nuclear Medicine in the above hospitals. Zhao Ning, Department of General Surgery, Beijing Friendship Hospital 3. Please make copies of the hospital medical records before the consultation, especially the post-operative pathological diagnosis report is needed. 4. Due to the large number of patients receiving isotope treatment, an appointment is required for the treatment time. 5. Strict iodine prohibition is required one month before treatment, including stopping the use of Eugenol, consuming non-iodized salt, and not consuming seafood. 6. The specific treatment plan and time will be decided by the nuclear medicine doctor, and multiple treatments are often required. After the isotope treatment is finished, the eugenol administration is resumed. Long-term treatment and observation should be mastered by the surgeon.
