What to know after coronary artery stenting

Nowadays, coronary stenting is an effective treatment for severe coronary atherosclerosis and acute myocardial infarction, and the application is more common. Patients should also pay attention to the following aspects after discharge. 1, postoperative exercise: within 1 month after discharge, all kinds of movement activities should be light, walking should be slow, avoid excessive movements. Those who undergo surgery via the femoral artery should avoid frequent squatting, prolonged squatting, leg lifting and other movements that squeeze the wound. Avoid excessive bending of the upper limbs and heavy lifting for those who underwent surgery via the radial or brachial artery. 2.Post-operative medication: Follow the doctor’s instructions and take the medication on time. Doctors usually require anticoagulation, anti-platelet aggregation, vasodilatation and lipid-lowering drugs to prevent the occurrence of postoperative restenosis. Patients should pay attention to self-observation. If symptoms such as skin or gastrointestinal bleeding, fatigue and weakness are found, they should go to the hospital as soon as possible. 3, self-adjustment: maintain a good state of mind, avoid emotional excitement. Develop good living habits, low-fat diet and weight control. Participate in appropriate exercise. Absolutely quit smoking, because smoking will accelerate platelet aggregation and cause myocardial ischemia, resulting in stent placement site endothelial restenosis. 4.Review to the doctor: After surgery, review once a month blood sugar, blood lipids, coagulation function, blood routine, etc. If these indicators can be maintained at a good level, it can reduce the emergence of new stenosis in other parts of the coronary artery.
