What is a grade 1 meningioma?

Grade I meningioma is a subtype of meningioma, i.e. benign meningioma, and most meningiomas belong to grade I meningioma. The tumor is well differentiated, has a slow growth rate, has an envelope, and has a clear border with the surrounding brain tissue. The tumor is usually located on the convex side of the brain, and in general, it can be fully resected by craniotomy. After total removal of the tumor, the patient can achieve the purpose of cure and long-term survival, and the tumor will not recur. However, if a grade 1 meningioma is located at the base of the skull, brain stem or other deep locations, the tumor may form adhesions and encapsulation with the surrounding blood vessels and nerves, so surgery may not be able to achieve complete resection of the tumor, and the tumor will recur after surgery.
