Self-healing time of sciatica in women

Mild sciatica pain in women has the potential to gradually resolve with 1-2 weeks of bed rest, but more severe cases usually do not heal on their own and require surgical treatment. Common causes of sciatica include lumbar disc herniation, pear-shaped muscle syndrome, and lumbar spinal stenosis, which manifest as pain, numbness, and abnormal sensation in the back of the buttocks and thighs, the back and outside of the calves, and the back of the feet. Some sciatica can be gradually relieved after conservative treatment, for example, sciatica caused by lumbar disc herniation can be gradually relieved after 1-2 weeks of treatment with bed rest, lumbar traction and oral pain medication. Severe sciatic nerve pain is not effective with conservative treatment and requires surgical treatment. Patients with sciatic nerve pain should visit a hospital in time to avoid atrophy of the nerves and muscles in the lower limbs, making treatment much more difficult.
