Symptoms of irritant cough

The human respiratory tract produces a cough when foreign bodies or secretions are removed. An occasional irritating cough is good for the respiratory tract. A prolonged cough, however, can damage the respiratory tract. 1. Patients with irritant cough have little or no sputum. Even if there is, it is difficult to cough it up. With irritant cough caused by pharyngitis, the patient will feel a tickling sensation in the throat area. When the discomfort is felt, the patient will often have a dry cough. The cough will be relieved after drinking water or swallowing saliva. People with allergic rhinitis and frequent smokers are prone to pharyngitis. 2. Laryngitis can also trigger an irritating dry cough. In the early stage, irritant cough is its common symptom. Whenever the patient speaks, hoarseness will occur. Patients usually cough once or a few times to reduce the impact of this condition. 3. In addition to the above two diseases, other factors can also cause irritant cough. For example, allergies and infections can cause respiratory discomfort, which can lead to coughing symptoms. Most factors that cause an irritating cough do not have thick sputum. To eradicate irritant cough, the primary cause needs to be cured. During the cure, patients should open windows to allow air circulation, walk outdoors, and eat more vitamin-rich fruits and vegetables.
