Pancreatic cancer is a malignant tumor of the digestive tract with insidious onset, very poor treatment and prognosis, and the 5-year survival rate after surgery is about 10%. The pathologic type of pancreatic cancer is 90% ductal adenocarcinoma, which is difficult to diagnose in early stage, and 80% of the patients are already in the middle or late stage when they are found. Common clinical symptoms include epigastric pain, fullness and discomfort, jaundice, decreased appetite and weight loss. Surgery for pancreatic cancer is pancreaticoduodenectomy, which includes pancreatic head, distal stomach, duodenum, jejunum, gallbladder and common bile duct, etc. Lymph nodes need to be cleared at the same time and digestive tract reconstruction. Since the development of pancreaticoduodenectomy, the perioperative mortality rate has been reduced from 20%~40% in the last century to 2%~3%, and the 5-year survival rate after surgery has increased to about 10%. Please seek medical attention if you are unwell. Reference: 3rd edition of the eight-year system of surgery 612 pages.
