Principles of correction of hyperopic exotropia

The principle of correction of hyperopia and strabismus includes wearing glasses to correct hyperopia and strabismus, and if strabismus still exists after treatment, surgical treatment is required.
Adequate pupil dilation and optometry will be performed to obtain the correct refractive error, and corrective glasses of the right prescription will be worn, especially for patients with amblyopia, which requires active prescription of glasses, combined with visual training to improve visual function. Some of the patients’ esotropia will be improved through the treatment with spectacles.
If the effect of corrective treatment with spectacles is not good, after the patient’s visual acuity and the degree of strabismus are stabilized, surgical correction of strabismus can be carried out, such as: monocular rectus externus retraction and rectus internus shortening.
It is recommended that the patient should consult a doctor in time and receive targeted treatment after a clear diagnosis.
