The novel coronavirus is afraid of alcohol. Normally 75% ethanol solution (also known as medical alcohol) denatures the proteins of the novel coronavirus. Novel coronaviruses rely on the special interaction of the S-protein on the surface with the ACE2 protein of human respiratory epithelial cells to open the door to human infection. When the 75% ethanol solution destroys the spatial structure of the S-protein on the surface of the novel coronavirus, the S-protein can no longer interact with the ACE2 protein of the human respiratory epithelial cells, which prevents the novel coronavirus from infecting the human body and thus achieves the disinfection effect.
