How to prevent recurrence of nephrotic syndrome?

Some children with pediatric nephrotic syndrome do fall into a troublesome cycle of nephrotic syndrome treatment – remission – relapse – treatment – remission – relapse – treatment again – remission – relapse again. To treat these children, doctors, children and families must work closely with each other, have enough patience and confidence, and adopt a policy of treatment, consolidation and maintenance therapy. Eventually some of the children will reach the end of healing. The chance of recurrence of pediatric nephrotic syndrome is high. According to statistics, children with only one recurrence account for 20% to 30%, those with 2 to 4 recurrences no longer account for 30% to 40%, and those with frequent recurrences account for 30% to 40%.        The main reasons why nephrotic syndrome can recur are as follows: ① The relationship with infection. ②The relationship with long-term heavy use of prednisone. ③Relation with the type of renal lesion. ④Related to irregular medication use. ⑤ Related to the heredity of the affected child. Prevention of relapse: ① Long-term regular use of prednisone. ②For frequent relapses and hormone dependence, add immunosuppression according to the condition. ③Co-application of immunomodulators: e.g. levamisole, pitocin, gammaglobulin, etc. ④Prevention of infection and regular review.
