Hernia surgery requires a hospital stay of several days

The number of days of hospitalization after hernia surgery is adjusted in due course depending on the treatment modality of the surgery and the patient’s physical condition. For patients who are in good health, have no other diseases, and whose blood pressure and blood sugar are within the normal range, only minimally invasive surgery, i.e. laparoscopic repair surgery, is required. Because the surgery is less invasive and recovery is faster, the patient is usually discharged after 2-3 days of hospitalization. In patients with poor health and other diseases, surgical treatment should be performed on a case-by-case basis and the hospital stay will be extended appropriately with the recovery of the patient. For pediatric patients, laparoscopic high ligation is usually performed, which is less harmful to the body, easy to recover after surgery, and can usually be discharged in 1-2 days. Patients are advised to take rest after surgery, do not perform exercises that increase abdominal pressure, and if no other uncomfortable symptoms appear for about 1 year, they are considered to be completely cured.
