A huge tumor in the root of the mesentery was successfully removed

A giant mesenteric root tumor was successfully resected in our hospital recently. The patient, a 55-year-old male, was diagnosed with mesenteric root tumor in an external hospital for 6 months due to abdominal bulge. Before surgery, CT showed that the tumor had a maximum diameter of 40 cm and was located across the mesenteric root, encircling the mesenteric vessels, making the surgery extremely difficult and risky. After careful surgical preparation and planning, the huge tumor weighing 9.5 kg was successfully removed on July 9, and 70% of the small intestine was preserved, and the patient is now recovering well.
