Minimally invasive treatment of habitual shoulder dislocation

The shoulder joint is the most mobile joint in the body and has a wide range of motion that can easily be injured and lead to dislocation. Shoulder dislocations are common in the younger population. It is associated with contact sports, including soccer, basketball, judo, wrestling and other sports; it is also common in traffic accidents. After the first dislocation, it is often treated conservatively, but there is still a possibility of re-dislocation. Re-dislocation, although easy to reset, can still result in injury to the patient. Multiple dislocations can be diagnosed as “habitual shoulder dislocation”. Many patients believe that a non-dislocation is not much different from normal, but in fact it has caused damage to the joint. This includes damage to the articular cartilage and joint capsule and can be severe enough to cause a bony defect of the humeral head. Is there a way to prevent or stop this “habit” from occurring, other than helping to reset the joint when it is dislocated, so that the “shoulder dislocation” can be treated at all? Surgical treatment of shoulder dislocation includes both traditional open surgery and “arthroscopic surgery”. Traditional open surgery can prevent the recurrence of dislocation, but it is very traumatic. With the development of arthroscopic technology, arthroscopic surgery is now available in large hospitals in China. It has significant advantages such as small trauma, fast recovery, good efficacy, etc.
