Freckle-like nevus is a relatively common pigmented skin condition in dermatology in clinical practice and may also be influenced by some genetic factors. It can appear on all areas of the skin, with freckle-like nevi being most common at the skin or mucosal junction. They are usually brown spots no larger than 5 mm in diameter.
The size of the lesion may become larger with age. The cause of freckle-like nevus is not known and does not begin in childhood or early childhood, but can also occur suddenly in adults. It is usually further treated clinically by laser or topical medication, but the results are unclear and treatment options are currently limited. Freckle-like nevi become progressively more numerous and darker when they are exposed to ultraviolet light.
