What is the general knowledge to know about pediatric surgical anesthesia?

Parents and friends, at present, we still reserve the surgical type of treatment for children (6 months-5 years old) by oral sedation + local anesthesia for the excision of smaller areas of various types of skin masses and birthmarks on the extremities and trunk, or radiofrequency, laser, local seal, etc. However, with the exception of head and face surgery, other anesthesia is recommended or elective until after five years of age, considering the various types of risk issues. Regarding intravenous sedation + local anesthesia: First, this is not general anesthesia with intubation. Secondly, it does not require hospitalization. Third, it is only suitable for surgeries that are short and must not exceed one hour. Fourth, with local anesthesia can greatly reduce the amount of sedation anesthetics. Fifth, it is recommended to promote the use, especially for head and facial surgery. About general anesthesia: the skin lesions are large, indeed, the operating time is long and the surgery is difficult, it is still recommended that general anesthesia is safe. There is no direct evidence to show that it affects the development or intelligence of children, so parents should be assured. About local anesthesia: For children over 5 years old, if the lesions are not large and the surgery does not take long, parents are advised to try to educate and persuade their children not to be afraid, to face and cooperate with the treatment, and to complete the surgery under local anesthesia as much as possible. Local anesthesia is usually effective in a minute or two when injected and is not painful, so it is easy to get through. Children can be given appropriate rewards and prepare music, small stories to soothe tension.?
