Introduction to the difficulties of common brain tumor surgery

  When it comes to brain tumors, people are always “afraid of talking about them”. In fact, with the advancement of contemporary neurosurgical techniques, the treatment of brain tumors has been greatly improved, and some brain tumors can be cured, while others can be treated to prolong survival. Therefore, it is necessary to understand the surgical difficulties of common brain tumors to dispel the fear of surgery.  Glioma: The surgical difficulty of glioma is functional glioma. Theoretically, the greater the extent of resection for malignant glioma, the better. However, for functional glioma, it is important to combine the maximum resection of the tumor with the protection of the function as much as possible.  The author once saw a practitioner who basically had to be hemiplegic or aphasic after the functional area glioma was opened, obviously because this point was not mastered properly.
