Correction of clubfoot in children

Corrective methods for children’s clubfoot include foot manipulation, wearing foot orthopedic support and so on. 1. Foot manipulation correction: you can massage the spastic lateral foot muscle group, stimulate the flaccid muscles on the inner side of the foot, and enhance the muscle tension and contraction force of the foot. Moderately pulling the spastic muscles on the lateral side of the foot, holding the back of the ankle joint, stimulating the medial side of the foot, and making the foot do active inversion and dorsiflexion movements. 2. Wearing foot orthopedic braces: For mild and early inversion of the foot, the foot can be corrected by padding the foot arch or wearing foot orthopedic braces such as ankle-foot orthoses to improve the walking ability of the child. X-rays of the joints should be done before wearing the brace to rule out joint and bone pathology. Be aware that they need to be worn for a long period of time. There are other ways of correcting hallux valgus in children, so if you find your child has hallux valgus, you should consult a doctor in time, and under the guidance of the doctor, you should formulate an appropriate treatment plan according to your individual situation.
