Hemorrhoids are mainly divided into internal hemorrhoids, external hemorrhoids and mixed hemorrhoids, as follows: a. Internal hemorrhoids are divided into four stages: 1. Phase I internal hemorrhoids: blood in the stool, bright red blood. The nodular protrusion of the lower end of the rectal mucosa, red in color and soft in texture, is seen microscopically. 2.Stage II internal hemorrhoids: blood in stool, bright red color, prolapsing out of anus during stool, and can be returned after stool. Microscopically, the mucous membrane is thickened and the hemispherical bulge is purple-red. 3.Stage 3 internal hemorrhoid: the swelling prolapses during stool and cannot be returned by itself, it needs to be pushed back by hand or reset after lying down. It can even come out when exerting force, coughing, walking or squatting. 4.Embedded internal hemorrhoids: If the nucleus of the hemorrhoid is prolapsed and embedded and cannot be sent back in time, due to the spasm of the sphincter muscle, the blood return is obstructed, making the nucleus of the hemorrhoid congested and edematous, thrombosis, severe pain, restlessness, surface secretions, and even surface ulceration and necrosis. This is an acute attack of internal hemorrhoids, called embedded internal hemorrhoids or embedded internal hemorrhoids. The external hemorrhoids are divided into four types: 1. connective tissue external hemorrhoids: also known as superfluous external hemorrhoids. It is formed by the proliferation of connective tissue at the anal verge, which shows an increase in skin folds and no varicose veins in the hemorrhoid body, yellowish brown or dark brown, varying in size. The patient has a foreign body sensation, or feel anal discomfort, after the stool is not easy to clean. 2, varicose veins external hemorrhoids: formed by varicose veins outside the hemorrhoid plexus, forming round or oval soft lumps at the anal edge, the lumps are obvious when squatting or defecating. It is usually asymptomatic, but in severe cases there can be anal swelling or a foreign body sensation. It often corresponds to the mother hemorrhoid and is mostly complicated by second and third stage internal hemorrhoids and mixed hemorrhoids. 3.Inflammatory external hemorrhoid: a sudden and restricted mass of skin at the anal verge, congested, edematous and severely painful. 4.Thrombosed external hemorrhoid: inflammation and breakage of the lining of the hemorrhoidal vein, blood accumulates in the blood vessels and forms a thrombus. It shows as a round or oval lump on the anal verge with severe pain, which is aggravated by activity. Mixed hemorrhoids: Mixed hemorrhoids have the characteristics of both internal and external hemorrhoids, i.e., the internal hemorrhoidal plexus and external hemorrhoidal plexus fuse into one in the same orientation and the tooth line disappears. Mixed hemorrhoids can be single or circumferential. Circumferential mixed hemorrhoids are more difficult to treat clinically.
