What tips should be followed when using an AED automated external defibrillator to save a person’s life

Usually, automatic external defibrillators (AEDs) are set up in places with high pedestrian traffic, which can automatically identify defibrillable heart rhythms and are suitable for use by all types of rescuers. AEDs should be used to save lives by following the voice prompts of the AED, with the characteristics of automatic analysis, simple operation, and easy to carry. First, press the green round button in the middle of the mainframe, there will be voice prompts to turn on the machine successfully. Secondly, take out two electrode plates and stick them on the upper right chest and the outer left breast nipple respectively, when the electrode plates are correctly placed, the AED will automatically start to recognize the ECG. If the heart rhythm can be shocked, the machine will send out a signal of imminent defibrillation and prompt the rescuer to press the yellow triangle button to start defibrillation. Finally, the machine will prompt that the cardiopulmonary resuscitation operation (CPR) can be continued, that is, the hands are placed crossed at the midpoint of the line between the two nipples and pressed downward, the compression frequency is 100-120 times / min, the compression depth is 5-6 cm, after 30 compressions, two artificial respirations, and then chest compressions + artificial respiration for about 2 minutes, until the AED prompts the need to analyze the heart rhythm can be. In addition, do not allow anyone to touch the patient’s body while preparing for defibrillation to avoid electrocution. Electroshock defibrillation can only restore sinus rhythm in some patients with severe arrhythmias, but not in those with no electrical activity in the heart. Therefore, CPR is required along with AED use, which can further improve the success rate of lifesaving treatment.
