Esophageal Disease Q&A

The patient had heartburn six months ago, and it subsided after taking some medicine. Now he feels a discomfort at the nodes of his throat. Nothing else. Is it a disease of the esophagus? Or is it a disease of the throat? The results of tests and examinations: six months ago, the middle part of the esophagus was found to have mild atypical hyperplasia. At present, it is believed that severe atypical hyperplasia in the esophagus is a kind of precancerous lesion, which means that although it is not yet a cancerous cell, it may turn into cancer soon.  Mild or moderate atypical hyperplasia is not a precancerous lesion, but regular checkups are needed to detect its changes early for early treatment. Reflux esophagitis is caused by refluxed gastric acid stimulating the esophagus, which is mainly treated with acid-producing gastrointestinal alkaline drugs. Most of the malignant lesions in the esophagus occur in the mucosa. If the mucosa is smooth, we should pay attention to the lesions in the muscular layer of the esophagus, such as smooth muscle tumor or mesenchymal tumor, and if necessary, we can perform an esophageal ultrasound examination. There is some impairment of liver function, but it is not serious and needs to be protected. Gallbladder polyps are very small and can be treated without special treatment for the time being, and regular annual checkups are sufficient.
