Difference between endometriosis and adenomyosis

The differences between endometriosis and adenomyosis are as follows: 1. Endometriosis: endometrium is planted in other parts of the uterus; clinical manifestations are secondary dysmenorrhea with progressive aggravation, and some patients have ovarian cysts, but the uterus is normal in size; progestin therapy can be used; 2. Adenomyosis: endometrium invades the myometrium through the basal layer; clinical manifestations are accompanied by menstrual changes, such as increased menstrual flow and prolonged periods, in addition to progressive aggravation of secondary dysmenorrhea, and the uterus can appear to be uniformly enlarged or locally protruding and enlarged; it is not sensitive to progestin therapy.
