Can straightened cervical curvature be restored?

Straightening of the cervical spine physiological curvature is generally impossible to fully restore to its previous intact state, but can only be relieved or basically restored through conservative treatment or surgery. The straightening of the physiological curvature of the cervical spine is mostly caused by prolonged head-down work or maintaining the same posture, so that the curvature becomes straight and no longer protrudes forward. Therefore, the straightening of the curvature caused by cervical spine fatigue can be relieved by local hot compresses or movements such as gently and slowly turning the head and neck to the left and right several times every 1-2 hours to achieve the maximum range of motion in that direction. If the straightening of the physiological curvature of the cervical spine is caused by cervical spondylosis or tumor lesions, symptoms such as nausea, numbness and pain in the hands may occur, and if conservative treatment is not effective, surgery is required. Those with straightened cervical physiological curvature should choose a suitable pillow, generally one fist high for supine and one and a half fist high for lateral sleepers, which has a positive impact on the treatment.
