How to treat tinnitus with otitis media

The treatment of tinnitus in otitis media is based on etiologic and surgical treatments. When otitis media is relieved, tinnitus will also be relieved to different degrees. 1. Secretory otitis media: secretory otitis media is mostly caused by upper respiratory tract infections, tinnitus is mostly low-pitched and intermittent, and when the head moves or yawns or pinches the nose and drums, the sound of air passing through the water in the ear can appear. Treatment is based on etiologic treatment, improving middle ear ventilation and drainage and removing middle ear fluid as the principle of treatment for this disease. After the otitis media is relieved, the tinnitus will gradually improve. 2. Purulent otitis media: (1) Acute suppurative otitis media: acute suppurative inflammation of the middle ear mucosa, often secondary to upper respiratory tract infection. Early in the course of the disease, there is often obvious ear stuffiness, low-pitched tinnitus and hearing loss. Apply sufficient antibiotics such as penicillin and levofloxacin under doctor’s guidance to control the infection as soon as possible. If the symptoms are not alleviated, tympanotomy can be carried out under doctor’s guidance to promote the drainage of pus. (2) Chronic suppurative otitis media: It is mainly due to the infection of middle ear by Staphylococcus aureus and Pseudomonas aeruginosa, which is mainly manifested as pus in the ear, hearing loss, tinnitus and so on. It needs to be treated with antibiotics such as ceftazidime under doctor’s guidance, and if necessary, it needs to be cleared up by surgery to drain the pus thoroughly and restore physiological function. When tinnitus occurs due to otitis media, you need to actively seek medical advice and follow the doctor’s instructions to standardize the use of medication and treatment.
