With the increasing incidence of breast cancer in China in recent years, more and more women are concerned about their breast health, especially whether they are in the high-risk group for breast cancer. If you have some of the following conditions, you have a higher chance of developing breast cancer than the average person, which is often called “breast cancer high risk group”. The following conditions are often referred to as “high risk group” for breast cancer: 1) having first-degree female relatives (mother, sisters and daughters) with breast cancer; 2) carrying mutated breast cancer susceptibility genes (BRCA1 and BRCA2 genes); 3) having had breast cancer on one side or ovarian cancer or colon cancer; 4) having atypical breast hyperplasia; 5) having two or more biopsies of breast masses confirmed to be benign breast disease. In addition, never having children or having the first child after 30 years old, not breastfeeding, age of menarche less than 12 years old or age of menopause more than 55 years old, gaining weight after menopause, having used birth control pills or estrogen replacement therapy, drinking alcohol, smoking and low activity are also risk factors for the development of breast cancer, which should be taken seriously by our female friends. Except for a few family genetic factors that cannot be changed, most of the risk factors can be improved, such as adhering to breastfeeding, consuming a low heat and low fat diet, increasing physical exercise and maintaining proper weight, not being addicted to smoking and alcohol, minimizing the use of birth control pills, and not undergoing estrogen replacement therapy. For some benign diseases of the breast, it is more important to carry out the necessary follow-up observations under the guidance of a doctor and give treatment if necessary.
