Chinese medicine for the treatment of advanced tumors

In the long-term theoretical exploration and clinical practice of tumor prevention and treatment, we realize that TCM theory occupies a guiding position in the malignant tumor prevention and treatment system, and the application of TCM and TCM combined methods is very extensive and can cover almost the whole process of malignant tumor prevention and treatment. There is such a patient, Chu Moumou, male, 58 years old, original history of hepatitis B for several years, in May 2009, the patient felt abdominal distension, examination B ultrasound shows: liver right lobe giant mass type occupancy, upper abdominal CT shows: liver right anterior lobe giant mass type nodule with subfoci, portal vein right branch and main trunk with emboli, subhepatic peritoneal fluid is obvious, spleen enlarged, liver function many indicators abnormal, serum AFP>1210ng/ml, clinical The patient was diagnosed with advanced primary hepatocellular carcinoma and lost the opportunity of surgery and interventional treatment. AFP>680ng/ml, abdominal CT showed that the subperitoneal fluid was significantly reduced and the lesion in the right lobe of the liver was reduced. The treatment was continued with traditional Chinese medicine. We know that there are late stages of any malignant tumor. The existing western medical treatments lack therapeutic effect on advanced stage tumors. The existence of advanced malignant tumor can be divided into two cases: (1) it is already advanced at the time of discovery. In this part of patients, although the evil is prevalent, the righteousness is not yet deficient, or the damage to the righteousness is not serious, and certain curative effect can be achieved through reasonable Chinese medicine, or combined Chinese and Western medicine treatment; (2) it gradually develops into advanced stage in continuous treatment. In this part of patients, who have undergone a series of Western medicine treatment, the damage to the righteousness is serious, and the treatment is more difficult. The above case belongs to the former. The so-called advanced stage tumor has two characteristics: firstly, the tumor is larger and more extensive, and even tumor lesions appear in many places in the body, so it is often difficult for simple local treatment to be effective; secondly, the patient’s evil qi is strong and the positive qi is weak. In fact, the body’s positive qi has certain ability to dispel evil, and following the classical theory of “nourishing positive qi eliminates itself”, the importance of supporting positive qi should be emphasized in the treatment of advanced tumors, and Chinese medicine has advantages in the overall treatment and cultivation of positive qi. The patient continued the TCM treatment on the basis of the original treatment, and the serum AFP was rechecked monthly and gradually decreased by half, and the AFP was 48ng/ml in 6 months after treatment. The patient’s appetite was normal, abdominal distension was relieved, bowel movement was smooth, physical strength was possible, and she did not complain of any special discomfort. The Chinese medicine was adjusted to strengthen the spleen and liver, detoxify the liver and soften the firmness, and the patient has been followed up regularly. Clinically, for patients with advanced tumors, simple TCM treatment can improve the discomfort of most patients, and some of them have improved or relatively stable tumor conditions. For tumors that progress faster and are aggressive, they cannot be better controlled and need to be combined with other treatments such as chemotherapy and radiotherapy according to the patient’s condition. We emphasize that for advanced tumors, in addition to “helping the righteous”, “eliminating the evil” is essential to control the tumor, not to help the righteous for the sake of helping the righteous, but to help the righteous in order to better eliminate the evil. Both should be taken into account and should not be neglected. Combination of traditional Chinese medicine and traditional Chinese and Western medicine has created the possibility of further treatment for some patients with advanced malignant tumors. For example: 1. Patients with colon cancer with metastases to liver and lung and other organs, after combined Chinese and Western medicine treatment, the patient’s organism status is improved, metastases are controlled, the primary foci are excised, combined Chinese and Western medicine treatment is continued, the disease continues to be controlled and survives with tumor. 2. Patients who cannot receive radiotherapy and chemotherapy for various reasons such as physical weakness, after Chinese medicine based treatment, conditions are created for combined radiotherapy and chemotherapy. Combination of Chinese and Western medicine treatment, so that the patient’s condition is alleviated, continue the combination of Chinese and Western medicine treatment, can achieve the expected therapeutic effect.
