What color is the fluid in the uterus?

The color of a woman’s uterine fluid is colorless. If there is an infection, the fluid may turn coffee-colored or slightly yellow, both of which are normal. A normal uterine cavity can hold about 5 ml of fluid and there is usually no obvious fluid in the uterus during an ultrasound examination, and a small amount of fluid can be absorbed by itself. If there is more fluid in the uterine cavity, women with lower abdominal pain or increased vaginal discharge can be given pelvic physiotherapy or cefradine or levofloxacin tablets for oral use to reduce inflammation. If the fluid is not absorbed after treatment or if the symptoms do not improve significantly, the uterine cavity can be drained through the cervix. The uterine cavity is then treated with anti-inflammatory drugs, such as metronidazole solution, to avoid causing uterine cavity infection.
