What are the dangers of drinking alcohol in pancreatitis?

Alcohol is a more important factor in triggering pancreatitis, especially in patients with alcoholism. The harm of drinking alcohol on pancreatitis is mainly manifested in two aspects: 1. Alcohol will stimulate the pancreatic enzymes of the pancreas, leading to the activation of pancreatic enzymes, which in turn induces pancreatitis; 2. Alcohol will directly cause damage to the pancreas, after drinking a large amount of alcohol into the blood, as well as the pancreatic vessels, which will directly stimulate the pancreatic cells and pancreatic ducts, while producing a certain degree of damage to the pancreas, thus inducing pancreatitis. Since alcohol has a greater damage to the pancreas, it will have a greater impact on either inducing pancreatic enzymes or direct damage to the pancreas, so it is recommended that pancreatitis patients should abstain from alcohol.
