How do children snore?

Most of the snoring in children is caused by adenoid hypertrophy and tonsillar hypertrophy. Some children also show prostration, restlessness, hyperactivity and nasal congestion during sleep, and they may show impulsiveness and inattention during daytime. This is medically known as “adenoid face”. Some of them have nasal congestion, and most of them have severe adenoid hypertrophy. Many children have otitis media (tinnitus and hearing loss, which often cannot be expressed by the child), and it is almost always detected only after a professional examination at the time of consultation. Treatment can be observed by applying nasal hormone therapy, but most require surgery, and those with secretory otitis media mostly need to be treated at the same time. Early treatment can prevent many undesirable conditions from occurring. Surgery is performed under direct endoscopic view with low-temperature plasma removal, or removal with a planer, which is very traumatic and can be discharged the next day with normal food intake.
