Why waking up sleepwalkers is dangerous

It is generally possible to wake up a sleepwalker, unless the sleepwalker is in a more dangerous environment and may collide or fall after waking up. Therefore, people with sleepwalking conditions are advised to close doors and windows tightly before going to bed to avoid dangers such as falling, and other situations are generally not dangerous. Waking up a sleepwalker may cause him or her to feel frightened or afraid, and there may be a transient impairment of consciousness and orientation. If people with a more irritable personality may be more angry, but most of them will not have a significant effect on their health. Occasionally the sleepwalker will be forced to wake up, usually there will only be a transient blurring of consciousness, unable to distinguish the location, some patients may have difficulty in recovering their mental state for a short period of time, most of them can return to normal after a period of rest, and there will not be too much impact on the organism. It is recommended to guide the sleepwalker to sleep and make him/her wake up on his/her own; however, if the sleepwalker is forced to wake up many times for a long time, it may cause him/her to have a nervous breakdown and be in a state of anxiety and fear, which will have a negative impact on the patient’s organism and psychology. Sleepwalking is a sleep disorder, which refers to the phenomenon of getting out of bed on one’s own during sleep and then continuing to sleep. The cause of sleepwalking is still unclear, and may be related to genetic, psychiatric factors and neurological functional lesions. Some people may think that forcing a sleepwalker to wake up may have serious adverse effects on the patient, such as dementia, and may even threaten the patient’s life with “death by fright”, but these situations do not usually occur, so if the sleepwalker is in imminent danger, it is possible to wake him or her up to avoid it.
