As we all know, drug pain relief will produce many side effects. As health care workers, cancer patients and patients’ families hope to find a better way to minimize the pain of patients. In fact, after a lot of research and clinical practice, we found that “acupoint neurostimulation” has achieved satisfactory results in combination with drugs for pain relief for tumor patients. “Acupoint Nerve Stimulation Therapy” is developed based on the neurochemical theory. These substances are mainly endorphins, enkephalins, prednisolone, pentraxin, etc. They are collectively called endogenous opioids in neurochemical theory, and their mechanism of action is the same as that of exogenous opioid analgesic substances. The simultaneous use of opioid analgesics can reduce the patient’s dependence on opioid drugs. Because “acupoint neurostimulation” can adjust the whole body mechanism, it can also improve the side effects caused by the use of opioid drugs. 1) It can slow down the growth curve of analgesic dosage As the pain intensifies, the patient’s drug intensity also increases. The body’s opioid receptors develop tolerance after continuous stimulation with morphine and other drugs, so that more morphine is needed to maintain the original analgesic effect. The dosage of morphine for tumor pain patients increases with the course of treatment. Clinical studies have shown that the use of “acupoint neurostimulation” at the beginning of pain relief can significantly slow down the dosage curve of the drug. For example, for tumor patients who originally need to increase the dosage of pain medication after 15 days, after using “acupoint nerve stimulation therapy”, the dosage can be increased only after 40 days. Some patients do not understand and feel that their dosage is still increasing, so what is the effect of “acupoint nerve stimulation”? However, from a long-term effect, slowing down the rate of drug increase is undoubtedly of great benefit in preventing, relieving and eliminating various side effects such as constipation, nausea, vomiting and insomnia. 2) The use of strong opioid analgesics such as morphine can be postponed as much as possible. In the early stage of tumor pain and the transition from the early stage to the middle stage, patients are mainly treated with non-opioid analgesics and weak opioid analgesics, which have less side effects and are less likely to produce dependence. Therefore, the timely use of “acupoint nerve stimulation therapy” can control tumor patients to stay in this period for a longer time and postpone the use of strong opioid drugs, which also means postponing the possibility of addiction and stronger side effects of drugs, which is beneficial to patients both physically and mentally. 3) It can alleviate the side effects brought by analgesic drugs, such as constipation, nausea, vomiting, insomnia, etc. For some patients with advanced tumor pain, they have to rely on strong opioid drugs for pain relief, but the series of side effects brought by strong opioid drugs are torturing patients’ heart and soul, what should they do? Practice shows that the use of “acupoint nerve stimulation therapy” can directly, quickly and effectively solve the side effects of constipation, nausea, vomiting, insomnia, emotional instability and respiratory depression by stimulating different acupoints of human body. The operation is simple, safe and efficient, without any adverse reactions. Our hospital introduced “Han’s acupoint nerve stimulation instrument”, also known as “Han’s pain treatment instrument”, which was introduced by Professor Han Jisheng, academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and director of the Institute of Neuroscience of Peking University, after more than 40 years, from the scientific research of acupuncture anesthesia and acupuncture analgesia, the This technology has won the National Natural Science Award, National Science and Technology Progress Award, Ministry of Health and Ministry of Education, etc. This technology has created a new situation of green treatment for pain and cancer pain.
