Pain under the left rib breast, if it occurs frequently at night, needs to be alerted to the presence of a heart-related condition, commonly known as variant angina pectoris, which is caused by constriction and spasm of the coronary vessels in the patient’s heart, causing ischaemia and hypoxia in the heart muscle, but needs to be combined with laboratory tests to determine if it is due to this condition.
