The US authorities (AHC, ACC, ADH) have jointly issued the “Principles of Blood Pressure Control in Patients with Coronary Heart Disease”: blood pressure must be below 140/90 mmHg, and preferably below 130/80 mmHg in patients with previous cardiovascular episodes. Beta-blockers are the cornerstone of drug therapy.
