Is a prolapsed cervix the same as a prolapsed uterus?

What we usually call cervical prolapse and uterine prolapse are basically the same. To distinguish between these, we should first clarify what uterine prolapse is. The so-called uterine prolapse means that the uterus descends from its normal position along the vagina and the external cervical opening reaches below the level of the sciatic spine or even the uterus is completely prolapsed outside the vaginal opening. This kind of uterine prolapse is often accompanied by prolapse of the anterior or posterior vaginal wall, and is usually divided into three degrees: the first degree is the mild degree, where the cervical ectocervix is at the edge of the hymen.
