The main cause of numbness and pain in the fingers is central or peripheral neuropathy, and there are a number of conditions that can cause this lesion. For early, mild lesions, treatment of the primary cause can provide relief and most have a good prognosis. In the more advanced cases, where the neuropathy is more severe and irreversible damage has occurred, some or no symptoms remain after treatment, and the main aim of treatment is to prevent further progression of the disease.
