The main manifestations are: lacrimation, copious discharge from the conjunctival sac, eczema of the eyelids in some children, and in rare cases a purplish mass in the inner canthus. In general, neonatal lacrimal sacculitis only appears as lacrimation and pus and does not cause serious eye damage, but when the child has low systemic resistance or strong bacterial virulence, it develops into acute lacrimal sacculitis, orbital cellulitis, and in severe cases, lacrimal sac fistula, which is not only very painful for the child, but also causes scarring on the child’s face later, affecting the child’s life, and if not controlled in time, it even evolves into sepsis, which is life-threatening. The life of the child is at stake.
