It’s been a year since the plate was removed, but the wound is still swollen.

The wound is still swollen after one year of removing the plate, which may be caused by the reconstruction of bone scab, secondary injury, venous embolism, etc. The treatment methods are different for different reasons, and the common treatment methods are physical therapy and medication.
1. Bone scab reconstruction: It takes months to years to reconstruct the bone scab after fracture, and the soft tissue injury also needs a period of recovery, so you should pay attention to more rest, appropriate exercise, you can use hot compresses, ultrashort wave and other physical methods to promote local blood circulation and reduce swelling.
2. Secondary injuries: the original fracture end of the plate is weak, excessive exercise may occur secondary injuries, it is recommended that the patient consult a doctor in time for examination, targeted treatment under the guidance of the doctor to avoid further deterioration of the condition.
3. Venous embolism: After implanting the plate, the lack of activity due to bed rest makes the blood flow slow, causing venous embolism, resulting in swelling of the wound area. Strict bed rest and anticoagulant drugs such as warfarin sodium tablets should be used to improve the clinical symptoms.
If the wound is still swollen one year after the removal of the plate, it is recommended that the patient go to the hospital in time to have a clear understanding of the cause of the disease and then follow the doctor’s instructions to carry out targeted treatment.
