How long to be hospitalized for tuberculosis

Tuberculosis requires hospitalization for about one month, because during hospitalization, sputum cultures are repeatedly taken, and drug sensitivity tests are performed on Mycobacterium tuberculosis bacteria to find out which drug is most suitable for anti-tuberculosis treatment. Each patient has a different immunity and resistance, and therefore has a different degree of sensitivity to drugs. It takes time to select the most appropriate drug for treatment, so drug sensitivity testing requires time for incubation, which varies from drug to drug, and takes at least a week. Different drugs will take longer to incubate and therefore require a relatively longer hospital stay. Tuberculosis requires bronchoalveolar lavage to obviously check the bronchial lining for nodal infiltration of tuberculosis and to rule out the possibility of endobronchial tuberculosis, and overall hospitalization for tuberculosis takes as long as one month.
