Precautions after heart valve replacement

Considerations after valve replacement for rheumatic heart disease: Prosthetic heart valves are divided into two main categories. One is the mechanical valve and the other is the biological valve. The former is made of advanced synthetic materials, while the latter is made of synthetic advanced materials and biological tissue that has undergone complex chemical treatment. Early after valve replacement: 1, continue to take the drugs prescribed by the doctor, including anticoagulants (because the artificial valve is not the body’s own tissue, blood is easy to coagulate in and around the artificial valve, the formation of thrombus, affecting the function of the artificial valve; if the thrombus is dislodged causing vascular embolism, there is a great danger to people; biological flap postoperative anticoagulation for six months, mechanical flap requires lifelong anticoagulation, regular recheck coagulation function, according to the (laboratory results to adjust the dose of anticoagulant drugs), cardiac diuretics, anti-arrhythmic drugs. 2.Prevent infection. 3, pay attention to maintain appropriate activities, not all day bed rest. 4.Arrange your early maintenance life. 5, pay attention to strengthen nutrition, should not eat too salty food; poor heart function to limit water, should not eat a lot of thin rice and soup; anti-coagulant drugs affected food (spinach, carrots, pig liver, etc.) should not be too much or long-term consumption. 6.A detailed examination (including physical examination, electrocardiogram, chest X-ray, echocardiogram, etc.) should be conducted at the hospital 3 months after surgery, and medication should be adjusted according to the examination results. Heart valve disease is often accompanied by atrial fibrillation: 3 months after surgery, atrial fibrillation is still present, and defibrillation treatment can be performed in the hospital when the heart function recovers better. If atrial fibrillation is stubborn and has a long history, patients with unsuccessful defibrillation do not need to be defibrillated reluctantly to avoid danger, but can be treated with anticoagulation while taking digitalis preparations to control the heart rate from being too fast or not slow. After mechanical valve replacement, a metallic sound similar to that of a clock can sometimes be heard, which is a normal phenomenon and should not be minded.
