Dietary care after stomach surgery

After gastric surgery, dietary care mainly focuses on the following aspects: First, 3-4 days after surgery, you can eat a liquid diet, 5-6 days later, you can eat a semi-liquid diet. Second, the vast majority of gastric surgery is done clinically by major gastric resection or even total gastrectomy, due to the loss of some gastric tissues, the absorption of nutrition is bound to be impaired to a certain extent after surgery, so it is advocated to eat less and more meals, generally 6-8 meals, within three months after surgery. Third, due to the lack of part of the stomach tissue for food digestion, so advocate high protein, low fat, high nutrition food, increase the patient’s nutritional status, and promote the patient’s recovery.
