What are the specialties of the pain department?

Modern pain medicine is a comprehensive clinical discipline developed on the basis of modern anesthesiology by absorbing the theories and techniques of various clinical disciplines such as internal, external, orthopedic, neurological, rehabilitation and Chinese medicine. Its main task is to achieve the purpose of treating painful diseases that are not suitable for surgical treatment and the effect of drug treatment is not ideal by adopting some unconventional treatment methods. For example, severe and chronic neuralgia caused by cervical and lumbar disc herniation, intractable trigeminal neuralgia, post-herpetic neuralgia and cancer pain, etc. In the case of pain caused by herniated disc, orthopedic surgeons think that the pain is not so bad as to be operated, and drug control is not ideal; in the case of cancer pain, the pain is still unbearable after treatment with morphine; in the case of trigeminal neuralgia, the pain is so severe that the patient cannot eat, drink or even speak; in the case of post-herpetic neuralgia, the pain can not be cured for decades. The Department of Pain Medicine has a professional treatment method for this. The main treatment methods of pain medicine are various, including medication, nerve block technique, minimally invasive interventional medical imaging, highly selective chemical neurectomy, ozone (O3) intervertebral disc lysis, collagenase lysis, radiofrequency nerve destruction, Chinese medicine, physical therapy and psychotherapy.
